Ad Firm Returns to Its Roots, Shifts Headquarters Back to the City
Buffalo, NY – After more than 20 years in Amherst, Abbey Mecca & Company has moved its offices back into the City of Buffalo. Abbey Mecca, a branding, marketing and communication firm has moved from the Village of Williamsville to the cobblestone district of Buffalo. Daniel Mecca, president for Abbey Mecca & Company made the official announcement.
The firm’s new offices are located on the first floor of 26 Mississippi Street. Built in the early 1900’s, but renovated in 2005 by Savarino Companies, the building was a complete adaptive reuse of the space. The former freight warehouses features a brick exterior with an interior featuring exposed brick and mechanicals, tall open ceilings and an open floor plan. The open workspace fosters the creative and strategic atmosphere Abbey Mecca & Company thrives in daily. “Collaboration is key in our firm. This space fits perfectly for our needs and it shows very well,” added Mecca. “We really like the energy of downtown and are thrilled with the space we found. Savarino did a great job for us.”

Founded in 1969 by C. Robert Abbey and Nicholas D. Mecca, Abbey Mecca is one of the City’s oldest advertising and marketing firms. Daniel Mecca is the second generation to run his firm. Nicholas Mecca, who ran the firm from 1975 to 2000, retired from the business in 2002.
2009 marks the firms 40th year in business. A celebration of the firm’s 40th anniversary and new offices are planned for September of this year.
Abbey Mecca has found recent success with a number of industry awards. The firm won two awards for their creative work in the 2008 International Davey Awards Competition, which honors the finest creative work from the best small firms, agencies and companies worldwide. In addition, Abbey Mecca received five 2009 international Telly Awards, which honors the best creative work for local, regional and national commercials and programs. Abbey Mecca won four bronze and one silver for a series of television spots they created for Canisius College Department of Athletics.
